Former Child Start Mayim Bialik’s Career Blossoms into Writing

Former “Blossom” star Mayim Bialik has had a big-bang year.

After appearing on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” the former ’90s style icon scored a hit role on “The Big Bang Theory.”

She plays Sheldon’s (Jim Parsons) equally socially awkward “friend that’s a girl, but not a girlfriend,” Amy, a brilliant scientist who’s as nerdy as they come.

For the 36-year-old actress, life imitates art. Or, in this case, art imitates life.

The self-declared “Holistic Mom” earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience from U.C.L.A. in 2007 while raising two children, sons Miles, 6, and Fred, 3, with hubby and college sweetheart Michael Stone.

Texas Instruments also just named Bialik their new spokeswoman in a campaign to encourage kids to study math, science, engineering and technology.
