A Nightmare on Elm Street Tops at Box Office

A Nightmare on Elm Street topped the weekend’s box office receipts by earning $32 million, knocking the animated fantasy How to Train Your Dragon out of the skies and into second place. The monstrous Freddy Krueger is no stranger to the silver screen. Though Wes Craven wrote and directed the original Nightmare in 1984, it was followed by  A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s revenge, 3: Dream Warriors, 4: The Dream Master, 5: The Dream Child, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare and Freddy vs Jason.
