Twins in ‘2012' Slam in Manhattan

Let it never be said that Alexandre and Philippe Haussmann have forgotten the little people who helped get them to where they are today. There they were on Friday putting in a cameo at the Manhattan Monologue Slam in the West Village, just a week after the movie in which they have featured roles, Roland Emmerich’s "2012" had opened with a dominating box-office performance.

The boys, 14-year-old twins from Port Washington, on Long Island, were unknown before they snagged the roles in the Emmerich blockbuster. Unknown, that is, practically everywhere but at the Manhattan Monologue Slam, a nutty competition Robert and Philip Galinsky, also brothers, have been staging periodically for years (currently the Bennett Media Studio on Washington Street). Think poetry slam, except with the competitors performing monologues; the Galinskys recruit casting directors and other industry types to be the judges. It makes for a lively night. Read More
