'Hunger Games' Sequel Not Being Shot in NC

The shooting of "The Hunger Games" brought more than $60 million to North Carolina, but the follow-up is not being filmed in the state.

"The Hunger games: Catching Fire" began shooting outside Atlanta this week. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported (bit.ly/Q6WpJw) the cast will travel to Hawaii for the movie's finish.

For "Catching Fire," most of the film's action shifts from a temperate forest to a tropical island. Towns that provided the set for the first movie have not heard from Lionsgate studio about shooting for the sequel. Read More
