Baby Wrangler Makes it Look Like Child's Play

On the set of “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” baby wrangler Dawn Jeffory-Nelson was responsible for 50 young actors — ranging from 15-day-old newborns to 5-year-old kids.

Inspired by the bestselling book of the same name, the newly released comedy from Lionsgate follows five couples on the bumpy road to parenthood and features some notable grown-up actors as well — including Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Dennis Quaid and Chris Rock.

Throughout the nine-week shoot last summer in the Atlanta area, designated baby wrangler Jeffory-Nelson made sure all of the babies followed the script — even though most of them were too young to read it.

“The baby will be doing this or that, and will need to do something else [for the scene in the film],” she explained. “And it’s like something whispers in my head, ‘OK, Dawn, try this.’ And it works more often than it doesn’t.” Read More
