Looking for a place to start.

Hi I have a 16 month old daughter and EVERYONE keeps telling me that she should be modeling or doing commercials.  So I really don't have a clue where to start and information would be great.  How does all of this work.

    Hi Sara,

Print work is a great place to start for that age group.  You will find a lot more work in this category than any other.  Remember, the work is cyclical and being so  . . . you have started your journey during the slower months.

Don't worry though . .. it's a great time to take some pix and look for an agent.  Why not post another thread and get thoughts on good print agents.  Try the Colleen Cler Agency in Burbank.  I believe they hold open calls periodically and I know they do a lot of print.  Perhaps some other members could weigh in too.

    All the best,

We live in Az but have been to Ca for different things in this business. You can take some snapshots of your daughter and write a nice cover letter to tell alittle about her (short and to the point where you cover the most important things about her). you can mail, email or go to an open call. The agency info should be on the internet and will tell you how they want you to submitt info (dont forget to say thank you in your letter as well as in person for taking the time to see you and your daughter). You can go to La casting on the web and get a list of agencies as well as the sag website also has agencies i believe. Then start looking them up and see what they are looking for and how to submitt your daughters information. This business takes alot of time and hard work. If you really want it and you and your daughter are happy doing it then have fun and go for it!!!  Please dont get discouraged you will get there if you do not give up. This website has alot of great people with advice as well. I would read other forums as well, you can learn alot from just reading off of this site. Good Luck to you and your beautiful daughter!!!
