Coming to LA; excited and nervous

My son attended IPOP Las Vegas and was fortunate to have a lot of callbacks.  One week ago we went to LA and met with some agencies and managers.  After meeting with all of them we decided to sign with ACME.  For right now my husband and my son will be going to LA and giving it a trial period.  If everthing goes well then my other son and I will be going up.  I am very nervous about this since I keep reading about the possible strike. My husband and I are excited, nervous, and we have mixed emotions.  This is a big sacrifice for us but there is no other way for us to be able to give our son the opportunity.  Please advise if what we are doing is the right thing or should we wait for a later time. Thanks!

Congratulations! Our son was also at IPOP Las Vegas and signed by KSA in LA. He also signed with a manager in NY. We were originally going to come out in Sept. but have put off moving until Jan. Mostly because of the slow time now and the looming SAG issues.

He is being submitted for projects and should something come up we would come out earlier. But to move right now, especially with school starting seemed premature. I wish you the best of luck!

I actually posted a thread here asking what people thought about waiting till Jan.

Thank you for your thoughts.  We have mixed feelings.  My husband is a teacher and is trying to get a job where our son will be attending school.  That is one of the reasons we decided to make the move now.  It is better for him to begin working at the beginning of the school year than in January.  But needless to say I am very nervous about everything!

    Hi Annie

It is slow right now due to the possible strike but there are still auditions daily.  I coach children for auditions and we have lots of kids going out on calls.  It will  all work out fine.

    Good luck to you.
