Third graders launch acting careers with TNT movie

Two Livonia third-graders were extras in a TNT movie that aired this month.  Mikaila Murphy, 9, who attends Hoover Elementary, and Paige Brothers, 8, who attends Hayes Elementary, played students in classroom scenes in Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.The movie is based on the true story of Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children's Center, whose single, impoverished mother with only a third-grade education pushed him to succeed despite his early struggles to learn.
